Writing Resource Center Writing Success Workshops


The Writing Resource Center will begin the semester by offering an a Workshop series. These sessions are aimed at providing a basic foundation for writing at the collegiate level and will be
held in the Writing Resource Center, 124 Tucker Hall. The remaining workshop will be on:

Tuesday, February 3: Writing Engaging Introductions, Thesis Statements, and Conclusions. Explore techniques for spicing up your introductions and conclusions, as
well as writing focused thesis statements that clearly preview your essays’ content.

Professional Writing Series

In February, the Writing Resource Center (WRC) will offer a series of interactive workshops designed to assist students in acquiring internships, scholarships, employment or admission to graduate school. All workshops will take place on Wednesdays in the Writing Resource Center, 124 Tucker Hall at 5 p.m. (Note: All participants MUST bring a hard copy of their writing.)

February 4: Personal Statements
Learn about the general conventions of personal statements and how to make your statement clear, organized and unique through this hands-on writing workshop. (A hard copy of your personal statement and guidelines are required for admittance.)

February 18: Resumes and Curricula
Improve your resume or CV through this interactive workshop to better represent yourself and your skills to future employers or graduate schools. (A hard copy of your resume or CV is required for admittance.)

February 25: Cover Letters
Practice cover letter writing techniques and improve your current cover letter before sending it future employers. (A hard copy of your cover letter is required for admittance.)

Graduate Students Professional Development Workshops






The Office of Graduate Studies and Research is offering several 
Professional Development Workshops for Graduate Students
this week and during the month of February. Thursday's (January 29) Workshop is on Setting Financial Goals and building a Successful Budget. Future Workshops include: the Graduate Feeder Program, APA Style and Plagiarism, C.V. and Resume 

Writing, Critical Thinking, Personal Finances and Negotiating a Salary, and What it Takes to Make it in Graduate School.

24/5 is Here! Extended Hours Starting Sunday!

Wooo-hooo!

We are pleased to announce we will be going to the 24/5 schedule starting this Sunday, January 25th!
We will open at 1 p.m. on Sunday and not close until Friday January 30th at 10 p.m.
We are open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. then reopen on Sunday at 1 p.m. again. This will continue until the end of the semester.
