In Praise of Black Women Event March 21, 5 - 7 pm

Faculty, staff, students and friends are invited to a celebration of women of African ancestry, entitled “In Praise of Black Women” featuring poetry, music, dance and song on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Black Archives.  The program will highlight five women authors, four of whom have written or edited books focusing on women or the African-American experience.  A reception along with book signings by FAMU women faculty-- Dr. Phyllis Gray-Ray, Dr. Annette Singleton Jackson, Dr. Huberta Jackson-Lowman and Ms. Monekka Munroe will follow the program.  Dr. Valencia Matthews, dean of the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities will serve as the host.
